Class Description:  Silk fusion (sometimes referred to as silk paper) is easy and fun to make.   Typically it is made by treating layers of silk with a textile medium or stiffener.   It can be made in flat sheets resembling fabric or it can be molded into three-dimensional shapes.  In this instant downloadable class you'll learn several different ways to create silk fusion including a no fuss, no mess way that doesn’t involve any liquid adhesives.  Also included are the directions to make several projects with your silk fusion including a treasure box, composition book cover, vases and more.

Lesson 1:    Start off by learning how to create flat sheets of silk fusion.  Learn how to use both pre-dyed silk and undyed silk that you can color yourself and then turn your sheet of silk fusion into an easy-to-make treasure box.

Lesson 2:    Learn how to create silk fusion sculptures and molded objects.

Lesson 3:    Learn a different, no mess way to create a sheet of fusion that doesn’t involve any liquid adhesives and use your fusible fusion to create a quick and easy composition book cover.

Lesson 4:  Make a vase by weaving strips of silk fusion together and explore silk fusion as wall art.
