Puzzlement

It’s a puzzlement to me as to why three family members have brain issues? My daughter has brain damage, my mother has Alzheimer’s and my guy recently had two major strokes.

There is always Hope. Hope that a cure for Alzheimer’s will be found, hope that the brain will rewire itself after a stroke, and hope that those who have brain damage are accepted for who they are.

This piece started with a  line drawing of the brain, altered in PSE, and changed direction many times before it was finished. Paint worked better for me than stitching  so most of the fabric is painted or discharged. I made a puzzle piece stencil that was used for both the discharge, blobs, and the painted shapes on the left side. The red veins are a rubber stamp and some of the embellishments are junk jewelry and painted puzzle pieces.  The piece is approx. 15×17 inches. More about this piece will be posted on my blog here. Thanks for the challenge!!
