Puzzle Quilt Challenge
Here is my quilt! It has a rather long name: Missing Pieces, Too Many People & Not Enough Money, or Where Does All the Money Go?
Please visit my blog here for the story behind it! This was a fun challenge and I’m looking forward to the next word!
Winter puzzle
First I would love to thank you at Three Creative Studios – it was soooo much fun to work on this challenge. And I love to see the diversity of results, they are beautiful, and it will be really inspiring to see MORE from all of the other artists during this year.
I finished my piece and uploaded some pictures and a more detailed story of it on my blog; you’ll find it here.
I started with the idea of a jigsaw puzzle in my head – and I added “winter” in the pictures. Now I need to find a place for this piece, because I’m really really proud of it

“My Grandmother” – Puzzle Challenge Quilt
The word puzzle immediately brought to mind my grandmother and her morning routine which involved doing the crossword puzzle in the newspaper. More pictures and details of my thought process can be found at on my blog here.

Puzzle challenge
Here’s my entry for the first online challenge. I named it “Puzzled by Love- Missing Pieces”. It is different from what I usually do and was good to strecth myself artisitically. It also helped me work out some personal stuff that was going on during this time.
Three Sleeps? I need more beauty sleep than that!!
Finally got the quilting design worked out but am running out of the silk thread I’m using. Good news, hopefully, is that I bought it last year at Textiles in Focus and the same trader will be there tomorrow when I go. Banking on them having another skein of the same tomorrow. Wish me luck. If not, I’ll manage with what I’ve got and introduce a friend for the silk thread.
If anyone’s in the Cambridge area (England) over the weekend try to go to Textiles in Focus (see www.textilesinfocus.com for more details). This will be the third year I’ve been.
Hope everyone has a good weekend and has enough sleeps needed to meet the deadline.
A late starter
I only joined the challenge a week ago and immediately had an idea to pursue. Instead of traditional cotton fabrics I’m using some merino and silk fibres Everything has come from my stash and here’s my choice.

Work is now well under way and the background is now complete. Time now for the stitching – the design for this is still in the embryonic stage so I’ll have a ponder but not for too long otherwise I won’t finish before the deadline.
Here’s a sneak of work in progress.
Quilting done!
Like Sally, I’ve finished the quilting and just need binding, label and hanger sleeve. I haven’t done much free motion quilting, so it’s a little ragged but done! I tried Bubble Jet Set for the first time with this quilt. Anyone else have new techniques they have tried for the Challenge? Justine
Another piece of the Puzzle
Wow! I don’t believe this – It’s only the 8th and I finished quilting my quilt. Just the binding to go. It’s 38″ x 50″. I think I might have to block it because I’ve had to cut one of the borders on the bias and the edges are a bit wavy – not too bad but I’m not happy with it. I’m really thrilled with the quilting. I’ve achieved the effect I was after.
I’ll be posting some more photos on my blog a bit later tonight.

have a taste
A tiny bit of my challenge quilt. I think it is good and says what I want to say about the theme.
It’s on the Design Wall
No picture today but I did do some coffee dyeing for the quilt. We will see if my idea works. Justine http://hennstitching.blogspot.com/
